The superior Lake Zinc Project in Canada is just around 1100km from Toronto and the closest major city, Thunder Bay is around 200km away. The project is located in Ontario – which is a major commodity producing region in Canada and also a well-regarded mining area.
Despite being shut down for over two decades, key infrastructure such as power, rail and road network, access to two zinc smelters which were put in place previously are all still in good shape. Since its closure, the Winton Lake Deposit was owned by major miner First Quantum and classified as a non-core asset. While the Pick Lake deposit has been owned by numerous undefended junior TSX Venture companies. These factors coupled with the nearly two-decade closure of these deposits have resulted in very little work being done on them.
